We're Books for Kids...

and we'd love for you to participate with us. Walk. Run. Whatever your style, you've got a place on our team.

We envision a nation where every child from birth to kindergarten is surrounded by books, has adults who read with them every day, and has access to high-quality early education so that they can develop a love of reading and learning that will last a lifetime.

Books for Kids creates libraries and implements literacy programs to develop the critical early foundational skills that children need to to be successful in school and beyond. We aim to champion joy, encourage curiosity, and develop empathy so that children have a solid foundation for a fulfilling future.

Our libraries live inside of preschools, Head Starts, community centers, and family homeless shelters so that they are ready and waiting to be used as a resource right where children already spend their day. We're working to build a culture of reading and are committed to serving children from low-income families in underserved communities.  Access to high-quality early education is the right of all children and is a key factor in breaking the cycle of poverty that holds so many of our children back.
